Toll House Pie

I am a pie girl.

I prefer pie over cake any day.

I think it's the crust that really gets me.

There is nothing like a flakey, salty crust to go with a sweet filling.

I like to make my own crust... but I have also made this recipe with a store bought crust, and it is still delicious!  So don't let the crust stop you from giving it a try.

This is a simple recipe that goes together rather quickly... especially if you purchase the crust.

To this day, I cannot eat cookie dough.

When I was young, my mother told me that eating raw cookie dough would give me worms.

It ruined me.

I can't do it.

But this is something I will enjoy!  And my family, too.

Even better with vanilla ice cream and a hot cup of coffee.

Depending on my mood, and my memory... I usually try to drop in a little vanilla (1 tsp or so) to the filling.

I would have gone back and added that to the above written recipe, but it took me FOREVER to figure out how to get it on the blog... hence: that big open space above.  But this is Texas, and we like big open spaces... so try not to get all worked up about it.  It's no big deal.

If you have a hankerin' for pie, and are not in the mood for making one... I know just the place for you...

And they ship, too!

A great gift idea for those that are "hard to shop for" or seem to have everything.

Go here to order pie.

Now all we need is a good rain, and some cool fall-ish weather.
