The Potager

A kitchen garden.

"The French call it a potager- usually constructed in formal fashion but with an informal mix of vegetables, herbs, and flowers.  Typically berries were encouraged around the fringes of the potager; even a dwarf peach or plum wasn't out of place."

The above snippet is from the introduction page of one of my favorite garden resources.

The Southern Kitchen Garden.

This is one of three gardening books that I use on a regular basis.

We have had the gardening bug for a few years now, and I don't see it leaving any time soon.

Our first garden.

We have learned so much since we worked that first little piece of soil.

The eggplant in my garden is still steadily producing.

I managed to make that recipe I have been wanting to try. I included a simple salad and a loaf of crusty french bread to the meal.  It was a hit. You can find the recipe here.
