You find a product you love, then *poof*… it’s gone.
I have been using this laundry detergent for a while now. It all started after I read the comments on Darby’s blog. It was a post she did about a problem she was having with a stinky front-load washing machine, and I was having the same problem.
After reading all of the comments on that post and doing some research of my own, I came to the conclusion that I needed to switch from liquid detergent to powdered. I stumbled upon this Watkins brand at Target as I was reaching for one of their pretty hand soaps. I tossed a box in my cart, and decided to give it a try. I’ll confess, the cute box with it’s cheerful green color and pretty graphics sold me.
The detergent worked great.
Laundry became a delight.
{Okay, not really.}
And now, the detergent is no where to be found.
Some months ago I came across one of those end isles at Target with a jumble of clearance items. I could hardly believe my eyes… there they were… several boxes of my detergent marked down to $4.48! I almost cried. Right there in Tar-zhay. But now I am half way through my last box, and I don’t know what I am going to do when it’s gone.
I guess I am on the hunt again.

This happens to my sister with everything she falls in love with. She usually writes and calls the company and is able to purchase the last of the discounted stock.
Oh, I am so sorry!! I hate it when that happens:). Boy, I would have been tempted to buy that soap just because of the cute box! I hope you find another brand that you love. Have you tried looking at Mrs. Meyer’s?? I’m not sure they make a powdered detergent, but the products are lovely. ~Julia
I just looked at my favorite store Drugstore.com, they have the soap!
Maybe only Target will not be selling it?!?
Julia… I would love to try Mrs. Meyers, but I need to see if they make a powder.
Deanna… I will definitely look at that website! Thanks for checking on that!
Have you ever tried making your own detergent? I loved 7th Generation, but not the pricetag, so I tried my hand at homemade detergent! You can google different recipes, but it’s a mixture of fels naptha soap (grated), borax and arm & hammer’s super washing soda. It works so well, I don’t need a softener any longer! It also makes about 2 gallons for roughly 40 cents per batch! (not per load!) Amazing. And…you can make a powdered or liquid formula. It seems like it would be a hassle, but it is so easy and lasts forever because you don’t need to use much. Just thought I’d share
