Flower Pins

I rent a booth space at an antique mall.

Looks pretty bare in this photo... I had just moved to this larger booth space.

.

It is a lot of fun, and feeds the creative side of me.

And, it {sometimes} gives me a little extra spending money to use to decorate my home.

So, it’s pretty fun.  Until something ugly happens.

I had a couple of large architectural eyebrows for sale.   I had just brought them to my booth.

There they are above… see those two longer ones on the left?

Here are two smaller ones that look just like them.

Aren’t they wonderful?

Well, someone else thought so too.  So they took them to the register and told the cashier that one price tag was for BOTH pieces.

Well, that was not truthful… and it has put me in a bit of a pickle.

Wouldn’t it be great if that person would come right back down to the antique mall and say… “Hey, I thought the price was for both of these pieces, but now I realize it wasn’t, so I want to do the right thing, and pay for that other piece.”

I am not so nieve to think that theft or tag pulling doesn’t happen.  But it does get me all jumbled up inside.

.     .     .

This week, my high school girl asked me (and her dad) a question for a homework assignment.  The question was, “What kind of lies do you most dislike?”  Interesting, no?

.     .     .

And because I don’t want to end on such a sour note.  Here is something fun…

I made a bunch of fall flower pins.

I will be taking them down to my booth.

I will be revamping my entire space next week, so stop by if you get a chance.

I’ll have vintage Christmas, some pretty french pieces and lots more!

Christi- I am so sorry that happened to you. I have some missing pieces, too. I am trying to not be upset because that is part of doing business these days but I still want people to do the right thing. Thank you so much for making this post. We are to confront our brothers and sisters and give them the opportunity to make amends and then God takes it from there. He knows the intent of the person. I find that when one thing is taken God restores with another. Many Blessings, Cyndi

I, too, am sorry this happened to you. It is upsetting. Having a booth myself, this same thing has happened to me. One time someone took a picture out of the frame and left the frame. I was selling the frame not the picture! I had to laugh over this one and the insanity of the act. I have learned one thing I will share with you. At night, I can lay my head on my pillow and sleep in peace knowing I have done the right things during my day. Those people making the choice to be dishonest have to live with that and they know what they did. God is in charge. I let him handle those people.

    Love your blog!

I’m so sorry that happened. I’m sad to say that probably wasn’t a mistake:( Some try to get a good deal in the form of stealing. If it makes you feel any better I purchased the “A” that’s on the wall and my little girl has it hanging on the door in her room and it makes me smile when I walk past it.
