plans change

Plans change.

I had a long list of things I wanted to accomplish this week, and I only scratched the surface.  My “to do” list was rather long, and very few items were checked off.  Isn’t there something wonderful about having a list, and seeing things checked off?

The week started with this little guy getting sick.

And he wanted me right next to him at all times.

So I did just that, and not much else.

……………………………………………………………………………….

I did manage to try a few new recipes, so I thought I would pass them along.  Even when life is crazy, you have to eat.

Grilled Balsamic-Garlic Crusted Pork Tenderloin

This was so good.  It will be even better next time when I marinate it longer.

………………………………………………………………………………

A little later in the week we had some cooler temperatures, so I made soup.

Leek Potato Soup is a favorite.

I found another wonderful soup recipe from Julia’s sweet blog, Blissfully Content, so I took the two recipes, and came up with a little something in between.  It was a huge hit.  You should try one of them… you will thank me later.

…………………………………………………………………………….

As much as I wanted to, I could not get to my booth at Hermann’s.  I have lots of new things to add, and I am itching to get down there and rearrange and spiffy things up.

I thought today would be the day I could do that… until we saw standing water outside our bedroom window this morning.  A busted pipe.  Another change of plans.

This week, I had several clear reminders that I can make plans, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I will execute them.  And I should be thankful.

In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.  Proverbs 16:9

So in hopes of getting to my booth (and my “to do” list) sometime soon, here are some photos from the Marburger Farm Antique Show.  I am so inspired by the displays and creativity.  I hope you enjoy them too, and get some ideas for your own home.

This is just a sampling.  As I started loading the photos, I realized that I have A LOT.  I will stretch it out a bit and post more photos over the next day or so… Lord willing.
